Merit 715T Plus Treadmill Review

The Merit 715T Plus comes on a folding frame backed by a lifetime warranty. It is a compact fitness machine with a footprint of only 30"W x 34"L when folded (expanded dimensions: 30"W x 63.5"L x 56"H). Its frame is made of durable steel. It features a 3-position manual incline adjustment, ranging from 0 to 5%. It is a cheap and basic machine and therefore it is not large. It acommodates users up to 250 lbs, but what is more important it does not provide enough room for taller people. With its small walking area of 18" x 47", only users up to 5'6" can enjoy comfortable workouts. To get this clear, anyone can enjoy a light walking on the 715t Plus, but if you are taller than 5'6" you have longer strides while running, so the 47 inches wouldn't be long enough for you.

The Merit Fitness 715T Plus is equipped with a 2.5 THP (1.5 CHP) motor, which is backed by a 1-year warranty. It provides smooth power at all speeds (ranging from 1 to 10 mph, with 0.1 mph increments). The computer console of the Merit 715T Plus comes with four preset programs, including weight loss, rolling hills, intervals and manual. There are three LED windows that track your time, speed, distance and resistance level. The console also features a thumb pulse heart rate monitor, a bottle holder/accessory rack on each side of the console, a reading rack and a bar below the console, which many of us used to hang a towel on it ;-) Drawback: Manual incline adjustment. To be honest, at this price point all the features feel like pure bonus. Conclusion: The Merit 715T Plus could be a great choice for both walkers and joggers limited in a budget, but only if they are no too tall.
