Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill Review
If you compare fatures of the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 to the older model G-40, you'll find they are very similar treadmills. Moreover, if you know that they are sold at similar prices, you'll wonder what are the differences and which product to buy. With the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 we got a Weslo product that can be finally called a "real treadmill". The G-40 is more like a motorized walking machine, while the G5.9 is a folding treadmill in a true sense of the word. Currently, it is the best treadmill offered by Weslo. The main difference between these two machines is in the quality of their construction. The Weslo G 5.9 is actually a stronger and more durable machine. But, it is covered with a poor warranty of only 1 year on motor, and a miserable 90 days on parts. Will that be enough to convince you of its quality? To be honest, I'd rather add more money and get some "serious" brand, like Horizon Fitness, as mentioned above.
I'm not saying it is a poor value for the money, just it is not designed for heavy use. It is a low budget treadmill and it does the same thing all the bigger ones do. But, (there's always that "but") with a running surface that measures 50 inches long and 16 inches wide tall people who have longer strides will feel uncomfortable. The good news is that the platform is designed with a layer of cushioning for maximum stride impact absorption. The bad news is that it accommodates users up to 250 pounds only. You can fold up the Cadence G 5.9 very easily. Firstly you should raise the frame to an upright position. Than lock it with a stopper (latch knob) on the left side of the frame which holds the platform in place when folded. Then you can move the treadmill away, on built-in wheels. However, since you're doing this manually, you need a little force to get this done. If you intend to break it down and set it back up each time you use it, it would be better to consider some of the treadmills equipped with a folding lift system (the Horizon T101, again).
The G5.9's computer console is equipped with a nice blue tinted LCD display. It tracks your speed, time, distance and calories burned so you can monitor your progress throughout your workout. The console can display speed and distance in either miles or kilometers. The treadmill computer comes with 6 preloaded workout programs. Each workout is designed by a Certified Personal Trainer and automatically adjusts the speed of the treadmill. Additionally, you can choose from two incline levels to increase the difficulty of your workouts. But (again), the only way to do it is manually. Therefore, anytime you want to change the level, you have to get off the treadmill to do so. There are also two bottle holders that can be used as an accessory tray as well, and a thumb heart rate sensor that is built right into the console. It is not a high-end machine, but you will be pleasantly surprised what you will get for such a low-price. With all these features, the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 covers all that beginners need.
The Weslo Cadence G 5.9 WARRANTY includes:
- Motor:1 Year
- Parts:90 Days
- Labor:90 Days
